A Sodium atom and a Chlorine atom bump into each other.
The chlorine recovers, standing up. it asked the sodiumif it was all right.

I think you meant "ion".

Sodium atoms carry no net charge. Neither do ground-state atoms of any element.

But it would have been funny if you'd told it right!
