Is that any good ? and if i started watching it from the next episode would i be able to follow the story ?

I thought it was very good, and I would recommend watching the first one. You could try going to channel 4 website and see if ylu can watch it online.

Yeah I like it a lot. I think there is nothing wrong with the shw, and im pretty picky when it comes to giving my time for t.v..i wanna make sure what im watching is worth the hour. It is though. Dfferent things happen in every episode,its not really a story u have to follow for it to make sense. The only thing that has really happened so far is this girl that everyone thinks is ugly gets a job as an assistant for this cocky man hoe and no one likes her. She has a family that is low class and doesnt have much money at all. Her dad cannot afford his medications,her little brother is gay and her older sister is like the mother in the family. Ugly betty has an ex boyfriend that left her for a hotter girl and the last episode it looks like they made up. Thats all really that went down. Watch it and if u dont like it u dont have to watch it again,but I think u will enjoy the show..

Yes, you'll easily be able to follow it from episode 2. Episode 1 summarised thusly: Betty wants to work in publishing but no one will hire her becuase she's apparently too ugly. She applis for a job at Meade publishing and is rejected, but the boss of Mode mahazine sees her and hires her to be PA for his son so he'll have a secretary he won't sleep with for a change. Betty finds out this is the only reason she got the job and quits, but her boss apologizes, she goes back to work for him and her make-up advert idea is a big hit. And that's it.
However, episode 1 is repeated on Channel 4 today, quite soon I think, so you needn't miss anything!
The only thing that annoyed me about the programme is that Betty of course isn't ugly at all - but in Hollywood if you give someone glasses and braces thta apparently makes them a monster.

I love the series and totally connected with it. If you were ever considered "ugly", love telenovelas, felt on the outside or love a drama with heart you will probably enjoy it as well. Also it gets better each epsiode but I think the first one is catchy enough. I would recommend seeing it from the beginning and you can see the whole series online for free at these sites:

I watched two episodes of the Marathon-ish thing on New Year's Eve, and by the second episode, I pretty much knew who people were. It's a good show.

Its ok. I saw the first episode and I'll stick it out for a few more episodes but if it doesnt pick up then I'll stop watching. I think it might end up being a bit predictable.

its okay, watchable although I don't find her actually ugly, making a character wear braces and glasses and then saying she's ugly to me is rather below the belt, yes she looks abit geekish but not exactly ugly and its deeply offensive to people especially teenage girls who wear glasses and braces on their teeth and are very self consious about how they look then they see that a character is being classed as Ugly for wearing similar items, it does show the superficiality of the model/fashion world very well ratherlike Nip/Tuck does with the cosmetic surgery world, in a way Betty has one up on all of them as she isn't some bimbo fake clone, she's actually very clever, its worth a watch, I expect the first two episodes will be repeated soon anyway, if you have E4 on Freeview they are being repeated tonight.

Yeah, i liked it anyway, but i'll reserve proper judgement till the end of episode 2 (as i tend to always like pilot episodes)
If u have Sky/Freeveiw then the pilot is repeated 2nite on e4 at 8pm.
or, channel 4 today at 4.10

I don't know about how good the show is but i read about in the times newspaper and the TV and the Sky magazine.
I'd like to see an episode, sounds different.

Well, Betty is supposed to be starting her new job and a lot of plot lines are going. You might be able to follow it well enough until they start showing repeats.
