On tv they'd sensor curse words, but sometimes they don't sensor the words OMG(I'm not gonna write it out,you know what it stands for). This isn't right because you're not supposed to say the Lords' name, and throw it around like it's just some other word, because it's not,the Lords' name is holy and it's wrong to use his name like that. Even on family shows, which is supposed to be suitable for family viewing(incl. kids!) they use that word as if it's just another word in the dictionary! Remember that kids repeat what they hear on tv!

It's just initials and you can choose what you want them to mean. It could be oh my gosh. Not necessarily God's name. So it's not considered a curse word. Else I'd report you. lol lol

Yeah... it's because people are secular these days. I mean, god~, get over it. Really, how many people do you know that never ever say omg?

Or maybe it's because most people don't care about 3000 year old laws. Or maybe people feel they have the right to watch television as it was meant. Or maybe people have the ability to laugh at things that are offensive to less than 1% of people.

If you like fundamentalism and religious laws - I heard Saudi Arabia has good censorship.

And remember! Censorship is great because ***************!

There is no law against "using the Lord's name in vain", that is just an in-house rule for your particular religion/cult, and even most members of that group fail miserably to follow this rule. If you want to base law on the bible, then please explain the lack of a law requiring you to stone any family member to death that expresses a lack of belief, as is required by scripture!

"If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you ... Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die." -- Dt.13:6-10

Remember, kids might actually believe things they read in the bible!

I've always thought that taking "the Lord's name in vain" was more along the lines of when you say "God D--n" or something like that (which they do usually censor).

Oh my God, I can't believe you asked that.

You want us to compare the TITLE God with the name of God?

God has been given many names, and the title itself has been giving to many others.

Comparing it to profanity is just plain sinful. . .
