That depends on WHERE you are, the weather is not warm across the USA :)
Anyway, supposedly an "El Nino" was created of the Pacific Coast due to warm waters heading inland and my guess is that that was/is caused by the earthquakes over in Asia. Kind of a domino effect.
Once the warm water gets near the USA I think it affects the "front" that comes out of the North, and sort of pushes air back north, and then moves inland, disrupting other waves or fronts in it's path.
Just my "hypotheses" :)

A sure sign of Global Warming not being a joke! Climate changes are being dramatically affected due to this issue. While it might be nice for us to experience milder winters in regions that get cold temperatures and snow, we will all be paying a price. Plants which normally need a dormancy period are blooming sooner. Birds are laying eggs earlier. And bugs are also out earlier, in more numbers. Countries which (in the past) only got enough rainfall to raise crops will soon experience famine since the warmer temps. with make the moisture evaporate faster. Almost one quarter of the polar bear population is ALREADY wiped out! They are drowning because the ice floes are breaking beneath their feet; these are masses that have been solid for a thousand years. The fish that penguin count on need very cold water in which to live and breed. These are already declining, so the penguins will soon be following. Artic fox, seal lions, walrus, and albatross all feed on penguins.....so it's just a chain reaction to devastation. Sea levels are rising; Alaska has already lost towns because the ground beneath them has eroded with the warmer temps. Sunamis will be more frequent. Colorado is getting more snowfall than usual. This has caused thousands of cattle to die as they've been stranded. They are trying to drop hay from planes. Of course, the suppliers of hay have almost doubled the price per bale.....farmers will suffer financial hardship. In the past when farmers experienced a crop loss or such, many committed suicide. Exxon is not only a big contributer to this warming, but have not yet paid off the fisherman that were left desitute from the oil spill in the 80's. The US accounts for about 30% of global warming alone. By the time people take this matter seriously, it will be too late; it probably is already.
P.S. For those that blame George Bush, wake up! This has been developing for decades now!
