Same reason why Hitler is still talked about today. Now, Saddam will also be in all history books so he can be discussed again and again and again.

Because that is what this type of behaviour (his hanging ) causes .Saddam was an old man and would have died and been more or less forgotton about
but now all that has been achieved is to make him into a martyr in the eyes of the sunni muslims (the majority of the middle east )
what was the point of Americans making a public show of pulling down his statue just to put him up on a pedestle instead .We will hear about him more than Hitler at least he killed himself theres no glory in doing that

Yeah, we need to move on to the next guy we can blame for killing thousands of Arabs... how about George W Bush! He looks great in a necktie, and I think between direct casualties plus all of the victims of sectarian violence that would not have happened under Saddam's strict rule, we are surely responsible for ten times the deaths Mr. Hussein caused! So yeah... Saddam who? Let's hang a real Arab-killer!

(btw, everyone hates him so much for killing so many innocent Arabs... when did we start caring about killing "innocent" Arabs? Don't we supposedly want to nuke them all and reduce the middle east to a sheet fo glass? As an American, I am very confused as to who I'm supposed to hate.)

It makes me laugh actually, I mean, hanging in the first place isn't particularly pleasant yet the West are now criticising Iraq for the way in which it was done! I think Blair & Brown have suddenly remembered they're supposed to be Christians so feel compelled to say how 'deplorable' it all was and I'm sure they'd be more than happy to forget about it as, of course, we all would so ....altogether now ... Saddam who?

What the international observed this night replaced right into a extensive crock of shitt.... conjured up be the neo-cons so as that they might say YAY US!!. The demise of Saddam will do not something, actual not something to curtail violence in Iraq. Saddam in no way posed available to the U. S.... and there are dozens of heads of state with drastically worse song information of killing civilians.... ironic how the U. S. does little or not something in those countries. Saddam had not something to do with 9-11... oddly most of the hijackers have been Saudis. be conscious how quicky we invaded Saudi Arabia? nicely...wager what... we in no way did... surprising huh? Sorry.. .it is in undemanding terms a collection of BS... and regrettably, many interior the U. S. will purchase this bag of products.

I'm tired of the Saddam issue too... but I think just forgetting everything about him would be a mistake... Bringing up issues from his premiership in Iraq may cause bad feelings, but forgetting them completely will do the same. You can't please everyone, justice is never done to everyone's satisfaction...

Saddam will not be forgotten, can you forget G.Washington or John F Kennedy? One and half Millard Muslims loved him and considered him a martyr after his brutal execution .So respect the Muslim feeling at least!

I'm sorry, but that just shows you how shallow you are. This man was a tyrant, he tortured and killed people and you say "forget it"?
Aren't you the lucky one not be in his torture chambers.
And it's not the end of it. It will never be the end until the suffering in Iraq is over, no matter whose fault it is.
So yesterday ...!!!!!

Noi I think we should exhume him for a proper thorough autopsy. There have been many advances in the field of forensics in the last week.

Perhaps we can end all these rumours about whether it was a "look alike" .
