There should be no doubt about the role of United Nations for promoting world peace It is the responsibility of its members to make it strong and effective. Big powers are more interested in their commercial interest than world peace. On nuclear issue in the long run it will achieve some success. The point is that rules should be applicable to all members without any discrimination. War in Iraq was started without involving UN.
I strongly feel that it will be able to recover its diminished influence if rich countries extend their full co-operation.

The UN is corrupt and has lost credibility. All of the members have their own agendas that often conflict with the "better good." I suggest shutting the place down and make the diplomats pay their parking tickets before we kick them out of the country.
The only time the UN did anything good was when the US lead the mission.
