i worked for ppo network lab. as a phlebotomist for about a month. i started realising that the company wasen't following osha regulations plus paying under the table, so i quit. i tried talking to the owner about these issues, but nothing came about. 3 days later, the lab was shut down and filed bk7. they still owe me 2 weeks pay. when i called various people to get info., i just got the run around. what can i do? these funds are really needed right now.

Contact the office of Wage and Hour (Department of Labor) for your state. All employers must pay all wages owed on a specific time period (which varies by state.)

Try the Department of Labor...it's in the phone book. The Federal government has a way of rearranging the priorities of companies like that. However, it won't be coming anytime soon...so you probably better consider looking elsewhere for funds.

Good luck ... usually a bankruptcy settlements happen very slowly ... the business parts get sold off and payments are made on a percentage basis from highest to lowest debt ... meaning that you may not get any money ....

Now this is only my understanding from what I know ... never been caught but I've known others that this has happened to ...
