Gravitational pull.
Only Hydrogen and helium escapes gravitational pull.

There is air in space. Space is not absolutely empty. Air is a mixture of gases and there are many gases in space. It is spread so thin that it is not easy to detect some times.
Gravity is what collects the gasses and holds them to a planet or even some moons.
The mixture of gasses is not the same on every planet. It is air though. Some gasses are released from planets into space as well.
Space is not empty and has much more than most ever would imagine.

Air is a mixture of gases . The Gases are the the first molecules of matter that should have formed in the space .It is the atoms of goses that have changed into all different elements by the addition of the electrons and the protons that were freely existing in the space . It is theses gases that have gradually changed into liquids , semi solids , solids and solids and metals . This change has lead to the creation of the matters that make up the galalxies. As mass of substnce has he charecteristic of attraction ( gravity) in direct proportion to thier volume , the great masses of the planets have an intense amount of gravity hat pulls everythig around them. Thus all the gases that have not formed into liquids , semi-solids and solids have been attaracted by the great masses pof planets and kept close to their surface. In comparision to the space the entire mass of the universe and all matters in the universe are too litle and therefore. So thre is no t suufficient quantities to fill the space over and above what is attracted and held by the planets. all the planets do nt have the same amount of gases in their atmosphere as all of them do not have the same strenght of gravity ansd the same amount of gases in their atmosphere .

There is air in space, but it is much thinner even than the summit of Mount Everest, where many people need to carry oxygen. Also, the air in space away from the Earth is made up mostly of hydrogen, with a much smaller amount of helium and traces of other gases.

because planets and suns and moons have gravity, which makes everything pull towards them. The earth's gravity keeps you stood on the surface, but it also keeps all the gas/air stuck to the earth. If there were any gas in space, it would slowly drift to the nearest large planet or sun and get stuck to the surface. Be grateful! Without gravity all our air would float off into space!

Atmosphere is drawn buy heavy bodies to it. That's why the gas gaints are mostly gas, Eath and Venus have atmosphere, and Mars and Titan have thin ones. You need enough gravity to keep an atmosphere.
BTW, space isn't really empty, it just has an extreme lack of atoms and molecules, but they are there.

There aren't plants and tree's to create it. We have an ozone protecting us from space and we also have trees and plants that take our carbon dioxide and turn it into oxegen for us to breath. That's why. For answer #1 go back to grade school and listen in science this time.
