It is active in Scotland!!!
I think it is a good idea! I'm an ex smoker and I can see the value in the ban.
Ainokea: I like how considerate you are. If you want to smoke fine, but don't inflict it on others. I did the same when I was a smoker.

Here in Hawaii a law was passed on smoking in public places, No smoking in Bars, clubs, resturants, and 20 feet away from door ways. If you use your home as a day care then there will be no smoking in that home.

As a smoker, I think it's the right thing to do, I don't smoke around people in my home ecspecialy the kids. It's just plain wrong, just because I happen to have a harmful addiction doesn't mean I have the right to make others sick,

Banning smoking would have its good effects but would also increase the risk of smuggling etc. So in that respect no maybe it wouldn't be a good idea. Just ban it from being able to smoke outside and keep it inside people's homes would have much more of a better effect i think!

i used to be a 20 day smoker and now smoking 5 a week. I only smoke those 5 a week because I am surrounded by smokers in bars and clubs so to outlaw smoking would make it easier for me to give up completely.
