Why shouldn't every nation on the globe be able to pursue the economic benefits afforded by nuclear power, & yes that may include even nuclear weapons.

The world can be the judge if those weapons are being used in an aggressive or destructive way & take appropriate action.

It is a historical FACT that only one nation has EVER used a nuclear weapon in war, and that country was......US!! While I believe w all of my heart it was justified to use nuclear at the time, & it ended WW2 more quickly.....

Who are we to dictate to the other nations of the world community who can or cannot be trusted to possess & utilize nuclear energy in a civilized manner......

We have enough oil resources in Alaska to last until you & I have retired from this earth, & we ARE NOT actively seeking alternative power sources for transportation because otherwise my car would get 100mpg, or use something beside fossil fuel.

Let other nations of the world have some of the freedoms we enjoy, & perhaps we would all get along better!!

Iran signed Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Israel, Pakistan, and India did not. The only reason why people consider Iran a threat is because they will have full control of all the fuel sources in the world.

Here read up on what they are using. Nuclear Hydrogen 99% fuel efficiency for hydrogen cars. They are a threat to Europe since Europe has a monopoly of making hydrogen fuel for hydrogen vehicles.

The fear is that their government might use nukes to attack other countries. It is feared that Iran has expansionist plans, or wants to politically dominate the richest oil region of the world, putting the world economy at risk. These are legitimate concerns.

However from Iran's point of view, having nuclear weapons would deter attacks from the United States such as the attack against Iraq. They view such weapons as defensive in nature. It is unfortunate that by turning Iraq into a basket case the US has rather stupidly made Iran the strongest power in the region. Not a well thought out strategy. Its quite a shame actually.

Iran seems to be taking a stance in nuclear because they think the world should no longer be dominated by Super Powers. The United States have their own nuclear programs as those of the Israeli people. Seems like the world is run by the United States and the U.S. has always backed Israel. Iran is wanting people to know that Israel was built upon the backs people that owned land and then were told to vacate because these newly immigrated people were given their land. They immigrated to this land because France and Britain gave them this land to appease for what had happened during the Holocaust.

Because Tel Aviv and Washington wouldn't tolerate it...there would be war to prevent it..therefore this is the best reason for them not to have one...circular i know but as John McCain himself said: "Iran having a nuclear bomb would be worse than a war to prevent them from getting one.." My point is if the pentagon, mossad, cia and even are potential presidential candidates are so convinced its a bad idea..there's no point in arguing against them.

No nukes for Iran because they're not responsible enough to possess them. That would be equivelent to giving a grenade to a 5-year old. Besides, they'd try to use one against Israel, then Israel would respond and both Iran and Syria would wind up as two smoking craters in the Earth with a little bit of radioactive oil in the bottom and we'd wind up in a nuclear winter.

let's hope it is not true. the US and the world would not punish the agressor.

edit. for those saying a muslim country can't/shouldn't be allowed nukes. it is too late. pakistan has them and is not part of the NPT
