just curious because I want to visit the philippines and was told there is alot of terrorist activity there and just curios to see if this si true and/or if the trip is worth it.

You know what, same goes for filipino people who migrated here in the US and came back there. They will sometimes envy you or like you. I grew up there so I know. My people are well known for our hospitality. Although some are envious because they think you lived in better grounds, most treat americans nicely. We don't care if ur white or black, they'll like u. ENJOY MY HOMELAND!!
NOTE: Do not take a vacation to southern Philippines. Terrorist groups reside down there. Stay in the centrl regions. In the northern parts there are NPA people in the south Abu-Sayyaf people. BEWARE!!!
By the way, try eating "Balut" eggs. They rock!!

a lot like Americans but don't expect every Filipino to like you though you are welcome here. Well, among all races all over the world, Americans are the most-liked race by Filipinos. And if we could hate, you could be the most-hated one, too.
Anyway, race doesn't matter to many Filipinos for as long as you respect the citizens...

They like westerners in general but that doesn't stop desperate people from wanting to exploit and extort you, bigger chance of this happening than a terrorist attack. On the other hand, there are loads of people who are sincere and who will protect you from those low lifes.

Yes , americans are welcome in philippines, as what they said be yourself. Like a simple person, coz there is pilipinos they think your are rich american citizen maybe they can plan something bad for you, coz of poverty. Luck of food and no job offered to sustain their needs.

Try not to flash any of your wallet photos of George Bush. And if you have any sort of American accent or southern drawl try saying as little as possible until the accent disappears. Be nice to their people as they are wonderful and they will treat you accordingly in return. Try to be yourself and to not pretend to be GOD. Enjoy yourself, be yourself. And please do us Canadians a favour by not wearing our flag. George Bush has tried to embarrass us enough already. Have fun and all will be alright!

yes,we like people, regardless of whoever you are. and we treat people nice as long as they be nice to us as well. we won't hurt you..you are very welcome to stay and be with us (filipinos). the terrorism activities or news that you hear are being exaggerated..though we've experienced some but it's not really something to be scared of..

alot of them do like americans....im half filipino and half white...and i lived there during my highschool years....my parents still live there....but you just have to be careful...you could get ripped off easily....where do you want to visit there??

In general yes, bcoz most of Americans are calm & respectful. . I think everywhere you go if you respect the culture of every nation, you'll be liked by their locals. Welcome to our country.
