A philodendron is a good choice. It needs some light but can do well even if it only gets some artificial light. Also it's an idiot-proof plant so you almost have to try to kill it. Only drawback is it's a foliage plant--no flowers but for almost all flowering plants you need more light.

Here is a good rule of thumb. The darker green the leaves the less light they need.

If you are talking large, a Rubber Tree, Ficus, Philodendrum,
Mother in Laws Tongue.

Any type of Asian plant.I have a small asian tree,3 feet tall. I had it at 3 homes so far.Maybe 75 years old passed on. Also cactus are great.Do not have to worry too much about watering also.

Anything made with silk foliage will do well in a dark apartment and need little to no upkeep outside of occasional dusting.

if you are serious, get some mushrooms, they come in a waxed cardboard box about two cubic ft, are kept in a closet, and can be eaten afterthey pop up, and theres a new crop every day

snake plant(mother-in-laws tongue); philodendron; pothos; peace lily(white flowers); fern; bamboo; cast-iron plant.

I suggest a plastic one,they are some great ones on the market these days.No water and no bugs too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ivy's........i have them all over my house, they just need light and not direct sun.
