I think America IS ready for a woman President. But the real question is if one will be elected any time soon. Women are being elected to Congress and as Governor of various states. There's no reason one can't be elected as President. The only thing in the way is the sexist out there that probably never voted before, but would just to keep a woman out.

I will never vote for a woman solely based on the fact she is a woman. I don't vote based on gender, race, religion, sexual preference, or political party. I vote the person that I feel will be able to perform the job the best, and whose beliefs are close to mine.

Personally I can't think of any valid argument against having a woman president. However I oppose the notion we should be supporting any candidate solely base upon any descriptive (even an accurate one) label applied to them.

What has kept us from a woman president? Probably the same thing which has kept us from a black, or jewish, or (your label of choice here!) president....prejudice, fear (which is prejudice in a different outfit!), ignorance, & traditional moral values.

That being said, it is time for us to broaden horizons & break new ground!! If we keep doing the same old thing we'll usually achieve the same OLD result.

What may be traditional moral values to me may be neither traditional, nor moral to you or someone else.

As a student of political science I believe our system is stong enough to endure just about anyone as chief executive, or even no president at all..(tho I don't advocate either!)

In fact you could elect ME, the Budman as your next President, & the only immediate change you might notice would be Presidential press conferences that would be more frequent, & certainly more entertaining!!

Hmmmm, President Budman......has a certain ring to it! I promise to make choices based upon nothing but what the magic eight ball tells me is best.

I'm rested , I'm ready. & could & I alreday plan to be at the ball park on Opening day, so I could throw out the first pitch. Look for my campaign posters....This Bud's for EWE!

I think that we should focus on having an African American president first, I don't know why but I think that they deserve to be president first before women since they went through a lot more. Then women afterwards. Although, I am also afraid that just the prospect of a woman canidate would excite people and we may just elect someone who is underqualified. (not that all women are underqualified) But, I also think that men are natural born leaders. But I think a woman president could do great things!

I would vote for a woman president if she was the best choice in the election. the pros and cons would be no diffrent than having a male president. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. T

I think America is ready for a woman president, but personally, I wouldn't vote for Hillary. She is not a woman I admire. There will be some who would vote for her just because she is a woman. I think that is wrong.

It's an individual thing, some people wouldn't blink an eye and vote for one while others would do anything but. That said, I think we are at a point in time where the men are such jokes we'll vote for anything remotely better....black, woman, etc.!!

I think we're getting there. Hilary Clinton is getting a lot of support and it's not out of the question that she could win. Condoleeza Rice broke great barriers by becoming the first female secretary of state. I would definitely vote for her if she ran.

Pro's - It expands the field of potential candidates by including women

Con's - None as long as she is qualified. But that goes for men as well.
