Any little details would be great. I'm interested in living there after school - I guess because it looks so wild still. And I really like cold weather. But, that's a pretty sketchy conception I've got... any help filling it out? Thanks.

Well, I live in a town in the Prince William Sound are and living in alaska depends on where you live. If you live in a town next to the sea it doesn't get as cold as it would get in Fairbanks which BTW is so f..ing cold is unbelievable. Mainly, it's pretty boring over here, not much going on, a lot of christians over here but also a lot of drug addiction, mostly, in teenagers cuz they are so bore they go the wrong way. If you are a stay home person, you''ll be fine but if you are a party animal or like to go to concerts I would recomend not comming or going to Anchorage which is alaska's biggest city. In the summer there is a lot of outdoor activities but in the winter there is a lot of white, so if you move here I would recomend satellite tv and broadband internet in whatever place you wan stay. In the summer, you can get really good jobs in towns like valdez.

If you like frigid weather, Alaska is for you. My brother was stationed in Alaska during his military tour, and he says even during the summer months, the temperature never exceeds over 80-85, with the median being abound the mid 70's.

Also, be prepared for constant daylight or constant darkness. I was there on the first day of summer, and the sun never really did set--just went down to the horizon and back up again. It made it terribly difficult for me to sleep. But good for you--what an adventure! And you should do it while you are young. Good luck!
