I need to track my daily expenses without having to get online. I really need to have a simple one cos I am not that good in finance. Alternatively, if anyone can help me in creating one, I would really appreciate that too. Thanks.

Excel is probably the easiest option. You can download budget forms/expense trackers from http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templa... . You can either fill them out on the computer or print them and fill them out with a pen.

If you want to track on the computer, you can check out some of the great free Open Source software:

GNU Cash: http://www.gnucash.org/
Budget Master: http://wall.brad.googlepages.com/budgetm...
GFP: http://gfd.sourceforge.net/
Money Manager: http://www.thezeal.com/software/index.ph...

You can make a excel sheet to track your expenses also.

Put date, nature of expenses (multiple columns with separate expense head), total expenses on date, Deposits, Total deposits, and Balance on date columns and put the formulas.

You might like to check out 'Enrich' (www.nrichsoft.in) as it meets all your stated expectations. It is simple, easy to use and does not require any knowledge of finance or accounting and it is a desktop version.

XL is best. Identify the heads of expenditure and key in the data you can generate and analyse the expenses. this will also help you to cut out on the unnecessary / needless spends
