I would say it is a toss up between Ford and Dodge. In my last 25 years of driving trucks, and I have owned all 3 of the American trucks. I find ford and Dodge very reliable and they have the most torque. You cant beat a Cummings diesel... so in that area Dodge IMO has the definite edge.

I am the owner of a 2006 F-350 crew cab, with a 14 inch lift running 22 inch rims and 44 inch tires. It gets horrable millage but it could drive over a honda and thats all that matters

I think in today's market Nissan trucks are the best. My Father in law has one my Wife's uncle has one my Dad has one and I have a friend with one. They all love them. Ford got cheap. Having to pay high medical expenses on there employees plus having to pay the unions and the high wages of the employees. American Trucks unfortunately have gone way down hill.
