Two things.
First- it is a hollow prism
so there are no ends.
Second- You want total surface area
that is, internal and external.
Now we write the formula.
P=perimeter of one of the bases.
H=height of prism.
Total surface area
=2*P*H

If the triangular prism you are speaking of is a hollow tube that has 3 rectangles that form two triangular ends, then just find the area (L X W X 6) of the six rectangular surfaces. If it is 'hollow' then it has no ends (the edges of the rectangles close the geometric figure). If you want to include 'ends' then add the product found to the area (1/2BH) of the two end triangles times 2 (inside and outside surface). As someone said, you haven't given enough info since many variations are possible if the outside skin has any thickness.

find the area of the triangle and multiply by number of sides. you dont give much information as to exactly what the prism looks like so that is the best answer i can give you. surface area isn't affected by the fact it is hollow, unless you are including the inner surfaces as well, and if so its the same as finding the outer area

Plug all the information you have in the formula
S = h times p+2 times B, where S = surface area, B = base, h = height and p = perimeter of one of the bases.

There is a formula...

S=hp+2B

where "S" is the surface area,
and "h" is the height,
and "p" is the perimeter of one of the two bases,
and "B" is the area of the 2 bases,
