PAX is a commonly used term in Indian hospitality industry to indicate the 'number of people' traveling or coming to get accomodation in a hotel.

If you look at answers.com, the definition of PAX relates to "persons at table". Look at the bottom at "Acronyms and abbreviations". It was originally typed as PAT, which later became "PAX"
