This actually came up in a conversation not long ago...
I'm not of the same fearful mind as the average straight man, but I know my brethren, so...
To a straight man, sex is, in essence, about penetration. The idea of being on the receiving end threatens his sense of masculinity.
Even if he's not actually involved in it, the idea is threatening.
Remember, "machismo" is very central to a lot of men's self-image.
On the other hand, there's nothing about two women together than diectly undermines the definition of a woman's feminine identity, therefore it is easier for most people to accept.

I think that's the root of it.

it doesnt matter. their sexuality is their own personal choice and has nothing to do with anyone else, so it shouldnt matter what people think.
