Army sorry for urging dead soldiers to return to duty

WASHINGTON -- The Army on Saturday blamed a computer mixup for recruitment letters mistakenly sent out over the holidays to the families of 275 officers killed or wounded in action in Iraq.

hadn't heard this ... horrible especially during the holidays

sometimes I think we rely to heavily on the computer to be right forgetting it's people who work the computer and sometimes we're wrong ... but no one checks

Yes apparently the defense department cannot keep its records straight. Or are too many soldiers dying for them to keep up on the rolls. Either way, a disgrace and at an awful time of year to be missing a loved one.
