With this question in mind on the matter of Separation of Church & State, how is it that the President can attempt to make Constitutional Amendment on Gay Marriage , because of his personal religious beliefs?

On my question of Separation of Church and State, Some of the answers are interesting, but some are obtuse, before you answer a question when it comes to an issue of the Constitution, please make sure you have read the Constitution, and understand depth of this document because it contains numerous sections, IE Amendments and such!

Not that I agree, but he will use the premise that there are some religious principles that transcend the different lines of religion, or lack there of. For example, I am an atheist, but, and not because the bible says so, do believe it is wrong to kill people(except in defense or through capital punishment). Obviously this is in the ten commandments. But, it is not solely a christian principle.

The President will likely imply that marriage between a man and a woman is also a principle that crosses religious, or lack there of, lines.

I believe he is wrong all together, but that, IMO, is his plan.

There is no such thing as seperation of church and state. It's just a popular term, but it's not found anywhere in the Constitution.

He does this simply to get votes. Bet you do not hear much about it for the next 2 years though maybe from some candidates. Frankly I wish they would concentrate on gossips instead.
