Depends on the circumstances. If it's to avoid it being taken into account in bankruptcy proceedings if he knows he's about to go broke, then it won't work, as the Trustee in Bankruptcy will just have the transaction "set aside" and the property will revert to the bankrupt estate. Of course this will depend on whether the husband owned it alone or together with his wife. If together, then only his share will be held as part of the bankrupt estate. Her share will be safe.
I can't quite see why a husband would "sell" his house to his wife in other circumstances. Even if she doesn't own it, she has Matrimonial Home Rights, and if she had a Matrimonial Home Rights Notice put on the property, he would have to pay her a sizeable amount of money to get her to cancel that. With that Notice on the Land Register, he wouldn't be able to sell, charge or remortgage the house anyway.

It depends on the agreement of both but the house is a conjugal property , hence it should not be sold to his wife. The house is owned by both of them

Yes, or it could be gifted to her "for love" in UK. House could be held in either name or held as "tenants in common" with each person holding a proption of the house or joint tenants beneficially which means it passes to the survivor on death.
Property ownership is not the same in other parts of the world.
