I learned how to crochet from an encyclopedia, {they didn't have the variety of books back then} when I was 12 or 13 and have never looked back, It's simple and you can work some really beautifil things for your home and yourself and others. There are alot of realy great web sites that help with this and all kinds of free patterns, like anything else, you just have to get on and ride. the best thing about yarn or thread {my preference now}, is one pull and you can undo whatever you have done. You can also catch yarn on clearence, sometimes you could be surprised at how beautiful a project will turn out.
Good Luck and keep looking for that pefect craft, be careful, you might just get that crafter bug, and want to try more than one craft.
~~~~I love to craft~~~~~
Basket weaving
Sewing
Knitting
Scrap Booking
Coin Collecting
Photography
Graphics
Drawing
Dolls (making and collecting)
Music
Video editing
Video Games (yahoo has lots of cool free ones you can try)
The possibilities are endless. Think about what you like. Have you ever been curious about how something was made or how it works? If so try it out. I suggest you try different things to see what you like. When you find you self spending a lot of time on something and you do not notice that hours have passed. . . then you have found your hobby.
The best part is you will have fun finding something that appeals to you.
Model rockets, cheap, easy to fly, fun, kids and adults love them, the kits now come "READY TO FLY" $24.99 at www.hobbylink.com, buy some spare engines and rockets (as low as $2.99) always use the lowest sized motor for the rocket, they tend to get lost on windy days but, are cheap, easy to make, and fun to fly, and watch the parachute open, you need a big school yard or field, and you're there, they look so cool too, a very easy, fun inexpensive hobby that teaches the science of flight.
you can volunteer your time with any organisation that needs your help eg, homes, orphanage, nature society, women's charter, etc. if not, a hands-on hobby you may find interesting would be acrylic art, candle making, soapmaking, beadmaking, or you may just wanna take a dance like salsa or hiphop. Keep searching and good luck in finding something u enjoy!
