I have been thinking about it for the past 40 years since the day I got into school. Rehearsing, practicing all is ok. But why take away a child's home life? Or I think it should be at least organized, given credits and so on for the extra work the child is made to do. Or let the school be for 5 hours and then the next 2 hours let the children practice.

Moreover, now a days studies are showing that the children are getting into lot of stress and losing creativity. No point giving home works. The child's brain is already stressed out for 7 hours and will not be definitely productive.

Yes and No. Home works cannot be abolished. But should be regularized.

The aim of giving homework is not to torture children. Mosat children study for 7 hours at school. Homework is given so that students can revise what they studied at home. But nowadays, it is not with this aim that homework is given. Teachers, who wish to neglect some part of the syllabus, give that as homework to students. This is why students don't enjoy doing homework.
The homework given should not consume more than 1 hour and should be application oriented.

It must be because when you spend 7 - 8 hours in the school where is the time left to do the home work. In lower classes, it becomes the burden (home work) to the parents who also many times return to the home from their jobs along with the kids.

I agree with u
now a days no one is interested to do hw
so many tuition's and then so much homework........... it's a big burden on students.
students doesn't get time for self study.
and then teachers expect us to get full marks

the time that we waste on filling our notebooks , that much time can be utilised for learning. This thing is most common with senior students.

specially during the time when examination are near, they give us a lot of h.w.
They don't realise that this is the time that needs more concentration on learning than just filling the notebooks
what is the guarantee that all the students will learn there lessons from these notebooks only.
most of us learn it from book than from note book

Home works are important to a student as it gives him a chance to improve his subject especially in maths but there should not be excess of h.w. as the child would become restless. You ar right 75% of the students are not doing it but it is a duty of a perfect student to do work given by his teachers,i want you to be a perfect student. It affects the childs home life sometimes but we must do it.
