You could turn off your pc for starters, all that power usage - tsk terrible, then theres the cadmium in it and all the energy wasted in making it, the planets dying and you're to blame, bloody computers - i've got 5! and we leave the downstairs lights on at night, and the central heating is on 24/7 so the cats stay warm. Thing is you see i'm really more concerned about my cats staying warm than the possible effects of the as yet unproven global warming theory that the enviro mentals are trying to scare us with.
Oh and i have a small car - but its got a 2litre engine in it, and it goes like stink and does about 25Mpg, we also have a small van, a transit van, a 4x4 - oh and a tractor thats 25 years old and belches out so much crap that small animals die if they get within 100ft of it, and you know what? theres not a thing the mentals can do about it WUA AHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Hows this for energy conservation, our last gas bill was £2,300 but because we're living on-site at our business premises - WE DONT PAY hahahaha i can burn the worlds resources willy nilly and dont pay for it - life is sweet here.
Our IT infrastructure setup alone is making rainforests drop dead right now, 5 pc's, 11 monitors, an imac, 4 laptops, a router, 2 switches,a hub, 5 external USB drives, 5 NAS drives, 7 printers.
So go on - buy some eco friendly washing powder at twice the price of the ordinary stuff that actually works, but keep in mind that a lot of people really dont care. Thing is bless you you're young so you really dont know much about anything, but for the mentals you're marvellous, they use clever tricks to engage you and make you think you're going to save the planet, you get to feel dead important, they get people to do what they want - its called manipulation, but because you're young and think you know everything you happily go along with it. When you're all growed up and big you'll understand, but by then it'll be too late, you'll be capitulating and will have helped further their cause.
Have a nice day - im off to burn some polystyrene.

Good on you! I wish my teenagers were as conscious of the need to recycle as you. My husband and I went away for the new yeat and my son had a party in our absence. Fortunately, no damage to the house(!) but the bin was full of empty bottles and cans whilst our recycling box (collected by the council each week) was empty. He spent that evening emptying them back into the recycling box!
Here are my hints for you:
Don't leave lights or other electrical goods on unnecessarily and don't leave TVs, video players etc on standby.
If you don't have a collection from your house of glass, paper, cans, etc, then get some plastic stacker boxes for these items and put them in the boot of the car when you go out - you're bound to pass a supermarket or other place that has recycling facilities.
BUT - Don't use the car for every short journey.Try walking - you'll be fitter for it, too.
When shopping, try not to buy pre-packaged food like fruit and veg.
Also, it's worth buying some strong re-usable shopping bags so you don't throw out dozens of carrier bags each time you shop.
Good luck and I hope you can persuade the rest of your family to do their bit, too.

By dieing and becoming compost ???
Only kidding, try to separate all of your waste , paper, metal, plastics, organic ( vegetables ) and get them to their respective recycle points, unplug your gadgets, stereo , TV, DVD, etc and don't leave on standby, ( you save money for yourself as well ) if you are old enough to have a car try and get a small engine model that does not gobble petrol, there is no need for a 4x4 Jeep in the middle of town a 1.1 to 1.6 is more than adequate and with all the speed restrictions it will be more than quick enough. Good Luck

carbon neutralise, if you get a lift to school/town/friends, then buy an energy saving light bulb.
Actually with china opening a new coal powerstation every week you can do much except perhaps get involved in local politics.
The main concern for us at the moment is waste, so recycle wherever possible, and the best way to recycle is to reuse.
Also, there is no proven link that global warming and co2 emmissions are linked but we do have an energy crisis in the west so don't leave things on standby and don't leave your charger plugged in

walk whenever possible and encourage your parents and friends to do the same, recycle all your plastic glass cans cardboard paper ect, its a bit of a hassle at first but you get used to it in no time. turn lights off, dont leave things on standby and go to www.freecycle.org to get rid of stuff you dont want anymore rather then it going to landfill! its a really good site... good luck!
