Or maybe a broadband?

Almost all my time is split between surfing pages, email and online poker sites. I don't download movies, or do the online video games thing.

At the moment per month it costs me 16 quid for 150hrs, plus around 10 quid for a phone line that I rarely use aside from the dial up connection.

I could probably do with maybe 200 hrs per month dial up or otherwise.

Suggestions?

You can get BB for about the same you are paying for dialup or even a bit less if you shop around a bit. Maybe your current ISP will do a deal if yu upgrade to BB. You would still have to pay for the land line rental though. If you have an orange mobile and spend more than £30 they will give free BB, Sky also offer a free BB service. Tiscali has a lower price than you pay at the moment. BTs lowest BB is £9.95 for six months then £17.99. I'd stay away from talk talk at least for the moment because I have seen too many people complaining about the service.

Get Broadband - Dial Up isn't worth the hassle. Tiscali do a 2mb service for £16 per month that has no limits - you also don't get any 'selected' feature content like you do with other ISPs. Avoid AOL at all costs - it's an invasive pain the proverbial.

if you want to reduce your phoneline connection you can go onto incoming calls only and its about 12 pounds a quarter with bt and for dial up virgin does it.if you have a mobile tell bt u havent or they wont put u onto incoming only, but for b/band you need outgoing line.if you are going to stay on the bt service you are on u are better off going onto b/band as its alot quicker and cost around the same as dial up.hope thats of help.also virgin is unlimited
