It may be a physical product or multiple-products, the goods sold in a store or shipped out by a manufacturing business or wholesaler.
Its also used to refer to the musicians, actors and artistes under contract to a record company or movie studio or the products that results from them - CDs, DVDs, Movies, Books, etc.
It may be a bit insulting when human-beings are referred to as 'product'.
