Definitely, I think it's all to do with tension so everything in your body clams up. Just like butterflies when you meet someone you like, when you are nervous you feel tension so because you are worrying, signals would go from the brain to the rest of your body, so it seems natural you'd have a literal effect of your worrying. What amazes me is that this feeling can come on instantaneously! To make it better, try and be realistic and the nerves will ease. e.g. if you have an exam, just think you'll do your best and there's no need to worry. Easily said, but you'll feel a whole lot better if you're at ease!
