You have to start from the beginning with this story. It all goes back to the Hillsborough Tragedy when The Sun printed outright lies about the events under the headline "The Truth". It claimed that Liverpool fans pickpocketed and molested the dead, were drunk, that they urinated on the police etc. This was total fabrication with the sole source revealed as a senior South Yorkshire police officer who was desparately trying to deflect attention from their incredible inpetitude which had partly caused and certainly led to the death of 96 Liverpool fans, including young children. Now, Kelvin Mackenzie was then editor of The Sun and it was his story - even his colleagues told him it was a bad idea. The Star printed a similar story but immediately apologised. It took until a couple of years ago for The Sun to issue a front page apology in which they stated it was the worst thing they had ever done. Aside from the fact that didn't wash and was partly done to try and recover from the fact that Sun sales in Liverpool are less than 10,000 per day due to the boycott (they used to be over 200,000); Kelvin Mackenzie came out very recently and said that he had nothing to apologise for and that he stuck to the story. So many years on, he is still telling LIES. The reason behind the events on Saturday was that (A) The BBC recently employed Kelvin Mackenzie and they were showing the match live on prime time TV so it was a dig at them and (B) it was obviously a direct attack on Kelvin himself with the mosaic in the Kop reading "The Truth" i.e. for him and The Sun to tell the truth. All this time and we have still not had justice from parts of the media, from the authorities (that is a whole other story), from the South Yorkshire Mass Murderers (South Yorks Police) and until recently from places like Hillsborough who had to be pressured into erecting a memorial to the innocent fans who died from police incompetance. Since the Semi Final when our fans died carried on for 6 minutes, that is why Anfield chanted "Justice for the 96" repeatedly for the first 6 minutes of the game and is why the Kop held up the truth mosaic for the same period. Further action was taken during the match including (1) "Stand up for the 96" chants when we were told to sit down (2) banners, flags, placards being shown whenever possible, especially on corners etc for the TV filming (3) "There's only one lying b'stard" chants amongst other things (4) Thousands of fans wearing Don't Buy The Sun, The Truth Mackenzie etc t-shirts and stickers.
This is just the first part of a multi strand strategy. Kelvin Mackenzie is Chairman of Blue Square Media which is stock market listed. We will be endeavouring to destroy their share price since he is a major shareholder and has just purchased another 400,000 shares for about £70,000 which is on top of over £100k of his own money that he has already invested. We intend to make that a very bad investment for him and hit him in the pocket.

Hello Glow wings, I think you have asked an almost unanswerable question. I say "almost unanswerable' due to the fact that it is open to personal interpretation today. Some persons find truth in errors, and other seek the truth, thorough a lifetime of experimentation and experiences. There are a number of human, scientific, philosophical, psychological, mathematical and logical truths, along with personal spiritual truths, which at times are often intermixed, which can also produce errors in judgements and errors that are accepted and considered by humans as the "truth". The folly of human concepts and ideas on what truth is has been evident since time itself began. They still have no real definition to offer, since the concept is open to personal experience and knowledge. For example, a person who has been taught, through constant application by others and/or reinforcement of the idea to the subconcience mind, that a circle is really a square, dispite the constant evidence proving otherwise, will go to their grave believing this is "truth". No amount of sure evidence will convince them otherwise. If given the chance, through certain social and intellectual factors, and a slow evolution of education relating that the former idea of a circle was an error that was taught in the past, a circle could actually be a square and universally accepted so. I use the term "universally" with emphasis here, as most accepted truths are universal truths, meaning they are the ones accepted by all concience beings, through a long evolution of learning and personal experience. This idea could take us into the realm of the personal psychological makeup of the individual, and would tangent off of your original question. Now in my personal experience and opinion, Truth (yes, with a capital "T") is usually a way for a writer to express the spiritual side of the concept, and is also an acceptable method to place personal opinion into a usually pointless argument, oftentimes without actually coming out and saying it outright. A speaker will most, and should always let there audience know the use of the term right at the start, in order to avoid any misleading ideas, which is one of the biggest problems we have with using the word alone. Some will know this "Truth", and not have to ask any further upon the question, as they already know the answer. Others will not, for they know not the Truth (except that which makes them comfortable) This is where the difference in knowing the Truth lies: either one does know the Truth or not. Truth is the Lord Jesus Christ. It is in all the concepts that He taught and that His Holy Roman Catholic Church teaches today. No other "truths" have more power than those which Christ Himself founded. All other "truths" are simply those which man has invented as an easy way of explaining things which cannot really be explained fully, but gives them (man) a false feeling of superiority and control over his universe. The whole intellectual idea of truth is veiled with many layers that have to be systematically stripped away, and even then, one may not want to see what is really underneath. Dominus vobiscum.

The "so called" Sun newspaper wrote total innaccuracies about how the liverpool fans reacted to the devastating Hillsborough disaster where 96 fans died. They have had enough and want to remember the dead in a humane way but the paper will not give them the right to . All that is written is to stir up the scouse fans, I am a Forest fan who was there on that horrific day and my heart still goes out to the Liverpool football fans and families of those who tragically lost their lives. Please let them rest peacefully.

Becuae the former editor of the Sun produced a host of lies about the Hillsborough disaster. The Liverpool fans knew the game would be on 5Live, where he is a freqient contributor, and wanted to make their point that nobody in the media can get away with spinning lies.

It was to do with the Hillsborough disaster when the Sun newspaper accused some Liverpool supporters of robbing the dead.

I wish the Sun newspaper should try at least, to respect the fans and not try to stir a hornet's nest. This is 2007 and let it be a year to rally behind the club like never before.

See the question asked yesterday by sean s.
It was answered then.
But yes, it is to do with the 96 fans who died at Hillborough and the Sun newspaper's desire to keep stirring it up.
