It is an awful waste of space if we're the only ones in this extremely vast universe. I believe that there are life forms out there who may not look anything like us or the species that inhabit the eart and are adapted to the conditions in their unique environment.

Yes there are other forms of life on other plantes in some far away galaxies. Such a vast big universe cant be just for us i think. In anycase it has been proven also, that life may exist on the planet mars. Already a few bacteria type things have been found to exist there. It has also been said that, mars has polar caps like the earth and is very much like the earth in many other ways. So, now doesnt this sound like something we all know? the life on earth, also had started with a mere bacteria or small insect and the way pollution and other things, are destroying the earth and life starting on mars and all maybe, i think that life might end here and start there, in a fresh new planet. Well, who know's the future? this was just a guess.

Even though there is no proof that they exist life must proliferate throughout the universe.
Chemistry must be similar in similar circumstances all over the universe.
DNA is a logical complicated process that emerged here on earth and must have occurred on other similar planets.
No alien could be more bazaar than some of the life we have here on earth!

There's something called Drake's equation too. But these are really all too kind of vague and never will produce anything close to accurate probability of existence of other life. These formulas only contain so many variables that they really seem to be serving as something that inspire people or just someting get their interests rather than as serious prediction. Too make your head spin even more what if there are parallel universes as late physics (string/brane) predicts.

The universe is immense, so of course there are other life forms. Not really sure if they've visited Earth, but thousands of hillbillys say so! lol Actually, I do believe that they have. We have too many ancient stories of "visitors from the sky". And, what about the Nazca (sp?) lines! Stuff like that.

Great idea. Maybe life must have started somewhere else. And if they had more time then us, they would have been more advanced. They could have contacted us or must have tried to & we missed. But it can also be that this is a continuous cycle. Somewhere life starts and develops. When they become more intelligent than required to be they are wiped off (We humans too may be on such a path. Nuclear weapons, biological warfare ...... too smart to live peacefully ????)
Who knows ??

There has to be in one form or another. The chance of this planet being the only place where life formed ?? Just don't expect them to visit anytime soon !!!

stop watching so many X-Files LOL just kidding. I agree, it's possible that there's life elsewhere, I just don't see how we would ever find out if it's true or now LOL by the way, The X-Files is one of my favorite shows XD
