Something that will guarantee to make you laugh, try "The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole: Aged 13 3/4" by Sue Townsend. I bet you'll love it. There are currently 6 books in the Adrian Mole series and they are all awesome.

Hi, I'm fourteen too and I just love these books:
Artemis Fowl. He's a genius and the books are just so funny! There are 5 books(not including The files).
Alex Rider: He's a teenage spy, and the books are really exciting. There's of course funny things in these books too. There are 6 books.
The Inheritance trilogy, Eragon/Eldest: I love these books and the Eragon movie is really popular. There are 2 books out now.
The Lord of the rings books are good too.
Angels and Demons + The DaVinci Code are also recommended.

Hi.... I recommend reading J R R Tolkein "Lord of the rings" ... it is way different from the movies... but so much deaper and intense.... You will love how tolkein knits the events and guides you through an ocean of emotions where you can stay thrilled every step of the way.....

.... another excellent choice would be "The Cell" by Stephen king, a superb small novel that is really genuine in its idea and depiction.

.... one more choice "The Tripods"... one of the first Science Fiction novels ever written.. SUPERB... but you may find only used books cause it's probably out of print... worth a try though.

... The best of luck!

Any of the books by Jane Lindskold. Dennis McKiernan, Raymond Feist, Emily Drake has a series sort of like HP but it takes place in America. And if you want to get a head start on adult sci-fi/fantasy try David Weber's "Honor Harrington" series or John Ringo's new series about Ghost(which is also the title of his first book in the series) or books by both authors starting with MARCH UPCOUNTRY and continuing til the last book WE FEW. Also you might try Eric Flint's series and all the adjascent books starting with 1632. Happy reading.

If you like Harry Potter then try reading Eragon, and Eldest. Also, I recommend, Endymion Springs by Matthew Skelton, Nightwood by Patricia Windsor and Twilight by Stephenie Meyer.

mmmmm I just read that Eragon book, you might like that or you could try something by VC Andrews, like flowers in the attic? Jodi Piccoult writes some emotional books, My Sisters Keeper is quite good but by the sound of it you would proberly enjoy 'When You Wake and Find Me Gone' by Maureen McCarthy or anything else by her. I hope that helps :-)

I often recommend Nancy Springer's books for young adults. She writes about the real life conflicts and problems experienced by teenages. Her books have won many awards and in most school libraries, but look for them at the larger books stores too.
