I recommend that young people should listen to the boomers when they say that you should start saving and investing for your retirement in your 20's. Waiting until you're 40 means you're going to be a greeter at WalMart in your golden years. Compound interest and reinvested dividends are miraculous in nature over a 35-40 year period.

I recommend writing a list of things to do before you die. I've written 40 things, it really focuses your mind on what you want to achieve out of life, gives you greater purpose and something to look forward to. I've only achieved two of my things so far so lots more exciting things to get done :o)

I recommend swimming to release stress. you use all the muscles in your body to swim and thus, after a few hundred meters, you will feel very refreshed. plus, it tones and sculpts your body :D

in terms of movies i would recommend one of my favorite directors, either ingmar bergman or krzysztof kieslowski. i love their movies.
