i love it!! have u heard of DISTURBED? damn thats a heavy group... i listen to metal or heavy metal coz its a way for me to escape from the world. especially after a long,hard day!!

Best way to get your friends to like heavy metal is to break them in slowly. If they like some form of rock currently I'd say let them listen to some basic early rock, blues, and metal to get them somewhat aquainted with rock. Cream, Led Zeppelin, Robert Johnson, Black Sabbath, Chuck Berry, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Muddy Waters, Hendrix, AC/DC and some other bands. If they don't like any of that stuff, stop there. If it peaks their interest keep going. Start giving them some heavier stuff that is still relatively light such as Iron Maiden, Dio, Ozzy, etc... At some point they might end up building up a tollerance and start listening to death metal, black metal, groove, thrash and other stuff, but I doubt that will happen. I have converted many people to metal this way and helped to change people's perspectives on not only metal, but on music in general. Many people have biases towards various types of music and I personally think that people should listen to all forms of music with an open mind and try to avoid sterotypes of certain genres.

There is nothing strange about liking the best music available. Let me guess, your friends are all pop and hip hop fans? La-la music is not for people with taste, that actually like to be individuals.

I love rock 'n' rollllllll . I love randy rhoads for ever and ever he is my guitar god . I love all style .heavy metal is one of those.
pink floyd and led zeppelin are my hero's for ever and ever .
