I believe we are at the mercy of terrorist countries until we convert our oil dependent economy and lifestyle to a domestically produced source of energy.

Winning the peace would be preferable. Remember that oil will eventually have to be rationed and that can be done without war if good will exists.

I have not studied the socialization on China much in recent years. But I will tell you that I think they would win in a war with us. For a few reasons: 2 billion people in the population so the army is probably at least 10 million deep. What you said about them economically and standing alone so it's not like their economy would be drained while manufacturing weapons and fighting a war. And its interesting that they have a good working system to get things around to people being a communist country. I don't know if Germany or anyone else would back them up, but standing alone they could reek havoc. The U.S. would need 3 or 4 other countries to team up with us to fight them and win. Also, they have nukes just like we do.

You are wrong although your idea of cutting oil dependency is good. It isn't just oil, it is Israel, our support of Israel, and our not being a Muslim Country. The Muslims hate us not for our dependency on foreign oil but for our supp port of Israel. They hate our ideology. The radical Muslims want to control the world and convert all infidels to Islam. America and Christianity stands in their way. If we had the oil reserves of all the middle east it wouldn't make any difference to the Muslims and we would still be fighting the terrorist wars.
We won't win a war against them until political correctness is taken out of the equation and the military is allowed to do what is supposed to do. Since Korea the military has been kept from achieving it objective in every engagement do to political correctness.

Actually, there won't be any wars for usofa to be invlved in if us stopped depending on oil.

I think the rest of the countries in the world should set up a fund and send free oil to usofa, if only to prevent them from sending out their armies to " Protect democracy and freedom" ( as if installing puppet regimes and American quislings helped democracy) in countries halfway across the world.

I don't think oil is the problem and it won't be that long before there is no oil.
What America has to learn is that war is no longer the answer to every dispute that occurs and to send your troops into a country to act like policemen without the express request of the people of that country is doomed. Vietnam and Iraq come to mind.
No country in the world, except possibly China in the very near future, is able to resist the might of the U.S. but disenchanted groups can and they are able to hit even harder if you are foolish enough to go and occupy their country.
I think your question should have been,"How can the U.S. stop loosing wars?"

You are right to an extent and that is why Halliburton needs to stop making those huge profits for our government and get its oil-leeching @55 out of Iraq's oil fields. If Halliburton never got involved, the war would have had less meaning to our government in the first place. (Good thing our 109th Do Nothing Congress is gone for good).

We have oil reserves large enough to allow us to win any war.The only way we will win any war is to do it within one year. The news media and the Democrats turn it into political fodder long before that but we can hold the citizens that long.

Capitalism is inherently expansionist.

We will fight wars regardless of who we get oil from.

We also have a war industry too big not to be used.

Although it is a current notion I am sure that we will find other reasons to go to war if oil weren't it.
