Use utorrent and get downloads from http://torrentnav.com
Limewire is mainly bs files but on torrents be sure to check the comments b/c they do a good job of accountability esp. on larger sites with user zones. torrents are the way to go. and forget bitlord.
And ALWAYS user peerguardian2 from Phoenix Labs for privacy...

I agree p2p is like enjoying Russian Roulette.... and Nortons sux. the two AVG that's unfastened, or Micro trend is noticeably good. I found out the complicated way that Nortons and Mcafee do not discover worms which you will %. up with the aid of only clicking a link in Yahoo on the spot Messenger which you think of a pal typed and despatched to you. i might think of two times until now employing p2p, however the alternative is yours.

I guess you would need to understand what p2p means! Most people aint got a clue! Peer to Peer or person to person. It makes NO difference whar site you use! File sharing is file sharing! You download files from other users PCs! If you are foolish enough to let a total stranger load your system with files, you WILL at some point become infected! Another myth is that virus protection will keep you safe! Far from the truth! For those of you who want to give me a thumbs down, feel free! It AINT gonna change the truth a bit! If you are internet ignorant eough to use them, I dont mind....I make a small fortune from you folk cleaning the chit out of your PCs and WILL GARAUNTEE that most of your virus and malware problems come from these sites! Most of you dont even realize that you are helping to spread the malware yourself!
Take butterfl for instance , "Trust me I know".....you dont know beans!

none of them are any less safe than any other. I use limewire myself. Some come bundled with spyware, others don't. The danger is not from using P2P software, the danger comes from the crap you download with them. Most of the viruses you can spot a mile away (MS Office in a 3 meg .exe file for example) and you can find a lot of them.

There is no 'safest' p2p software. All of them come with viruses, trojans and other malware. You can remain safe as long as you have got strong security. Moreover, it is illegal to use them.
