It really comes down to maturity and peer groups.
If you are in a group (say university) when your age group are busy keeping up with the Joneses and careers, you may find yourself interested in and pursuing things much more relevant to a younger group. But the maturity levels have to match.
Peace

Lots of people might think it's 'just a number', but it's a whole 'nother ball game when it's a reality.
My husband is 22 years old. I am 35 years old. Age was always a pretty big deal to me. Never in my life would I have thought I would meet, and fall in love with someone so much younger than me. My best friend is 25, her husband is 47...her last husband was 15 years older than her! Wow huh? See, that is 'too old' for me lol...
It still does matter to me though. I have my preferences-even at my age. People think my husband and I are the same age-they think he is OLDER than me sometimes lol...which I find to be a compliment lol
But...age often determines experience..in many things. If he was a typical 22 year old, he wouldn't have been interested in being married-he'd be out partying and living it up-not settling into a ready made family and taking on all this responsibility. He acts older than he is to me-or maybe I act younger than I am-I dunno.
Bottom line is, we have a lot in common-even with our age difference, and we compliment each other.
The way I see it, I figure relationships come into your life for a reason, and a season. Might as well enjoy it for what it is.

Age is just a number. It shouldn't matter in a relationship (to an extent...no mature 12 year olds with 30 year olds). A lot of young women choose to date a guy older than them because in most cases an older guy is more mature. Some older men will date younger women because they are full of life and not jaded by it yet. Maturity should matter in relationships...age shouldn't. Age only normally matters in a relationship these days because of the laws that prohibit the relationship with a minor.

No, I don't think that, but I do think that age does have it's importance in forming who a person is. Should age matter? Not when you know the person. Now, I'm talking about adults here. Teenagers and younger are not capable of worthwhile romantic relationships.

It is your age. How can that be just a number? It is an indication of maturity and how much time you have lived. It is an indication of how much you can expect to live too. So it is hardly just a number.
Sickos think that age is "just a number" too so I think I might just put a tap on your internet line.

Depends on what kind of relationship. Marraige? Age can make a difference. There are situations and pressures that can come up that are awkward. It is not impossible for it to work. Often unlikely though.

It is... to a degree.
It all depends on the maturity level of the individual. e.g my sisters fiancee is 15 years older than her, but she is very matured and he is a very sensitive, nice guy who even looks younger than his age.
I hate it when the other person is 25 years or older. It looks like a power thing.
I also hate it when one of the persons is in their teens and the other is in their late 20's or 30's. That is totally exploitation.

Age should not matter. If two people care about each other that is all that matters. I have friends who are 10 and 12 years different in their ages. They are happy. It doesn't matter if he is older or she is older. True love doesn't care.
