can anyone tell me how to get a website i made into an actual site on the internet? I just made it with a website builder, in html (i think, there might be some css), and i need to get it onto the internet, so that i can just type in an address and it should appear there.
so, anyone out there that can tell me how to do it?
(by the way, it has to be free)

there are plenty of free hosting sites out there...just do a search.
most free sites will provide you with a control panel to upload files from your own computer. Since you have a site on your computer there is only a few things to remember. The start or home page must be named index.html (as another person told you already). Be careful that when you change the name you don't break links to other pages. You should change it first and test it on your own computer first. When you upload each of the files from your computer to the online site you have to be careful to maintain the directory structure...which means if the images in your website are in a folder called "pictures"...make sure you create a "pictures" folder on your online site to put those pictures in....or your image files won't show up.

You'll need someone to host it for you. If you want your own domain name you'll have to purchase that plus you'll need to pay for the hosting service it self. OR you can use one of the free website hosting services available, but they come with limited controls. There is a lot to know before launching a website since it's not really a simple process. I suggest you do a little bit more research on that first.

Since you already have a Yahoo account, try Geocities. There's also Tripod.
They both offer free website space.
In the future, you might want to register and obtain a domain name i.e. yahoo.com, amazon.com etc.

All you have to do is name your main page "index.html"

for example

if i had a page:
http://helo.com/home.html
and you wanted that page to show when you enter helo.com

change home.html to index.html
