I'm a complete n00b when it comes to wireless networking, and I have a question. I see that most wireless routers have 4 ports. Hypothetically speaking, if one needs to hook up 5 or 6 devices, you would probably need to get a second router right? And most importantly, would you need another Internet connection?

The wireless router has 4 ports to access the router thru ethernet cable.
Since its wireless more people can conect to the router using wireless connectivity.

Incase you have more than 4 people connected thru ethernet, then instead of buying anoter router you may buy an unmanaged 24 port switch.

You need not buy another internet connection, just upgrade the existing one incase you feel the connectivity is slow.

Cheers !!!

Depends on the "actual"speed and bandwidth of your service, not the "advertised" speed. You can split the signal as far as you want as long as you have enough bandwidth. It can be manually tweaked as well.
