Why are boybands so overrated?

Can someone please tell me why these freaks are so overrated? I have heard better music at a karaoke in the pub and I see hotter guys in the street all the time, but it seems like young girls and older women trying deperately in vain to recapture their youth wanna go around flattering these talentless mingers.

Some of them aren't bad looking but the majority of the likes of Westlife and Mcfly are minging talentless losers, and yet all the stupid jailbait seems to be under the false belief that because they are famous they are by defualt superior to the regular guy, because they are "stars"

Shitty mags like hello and Smash Hits have a lot to answer for.

No doubt I will get some moron teenyboppers come here defending them but the facts are these wimps are overrated geeks.

I can't really judge boy bands because I don't listen to them, my musical interests lie elswhere. One thing I can tell you from experience though, it takes a lot of balls to get up and entertain people and if you were to actually try it your self you would no doubt begin to realise that the boy bands probably have more talent then you realised. The fact that you do not like their brand of music does not mean they are talentless.

You said that Westlife and Mc fly are minging, talentless losers. Well some of the greatest vocal artists who have ever lived have been less than good looking, look at some of the old blues men, their looks did not matter because their talent was so great. The artists you mentioned are clearly not losers, they are in point of fact very successeful winners and if you do not belive that then try achieving their success yourself and see what happens.

The reason why the artists whom you are so quick to criticise are not losers is because they have spotted a gap in the music market and they had the knowledge and foresight to fill that gap and capitalise on it. It takes a lot of hard work and talent to do that.

The hatchet job you have just done on boy bands rather suggests that you are extremely jealous of their talent, skills, good looks and success with women. Why not learn to sing yourself and if you can muster up enough talent you might get the same adulation. Good luck loser.

By the way, I am 53 (no teenybopper) but I still get plenty of female attention when I sing.

first of all westlife are not talentless
i have been to every tour they have ever done, and they are fantastic! they have been around for quite a while as well. so yeah i am defending them
i could understand you calling people like Mcfly , Matt Willis, etc etc etc because mcfly are rubbish, and matt willis, is a has been when he was in busted!

real bands? well the bands you call tasteful are not to everybodys cup of tea! Nirvana and Metalica? hmmm....

there is a time and a place for ALL kinds of bands....boybands do well cos there is a market for them! as a teenager i loved boybands and i have to admit i still like a good boyband at 23!!

some of them are proper pants...but there is no way you can actually believe McFly are minging talentless losers...

if there are better people performing at kareoke bars perhaps they should get themselves to x factor auditions...

here here. Im fed up with hearing boring ballads with 4 blokes miming along. Young people of today have no taste in music.

I suppose its all down to demand though. The younger generation spend alot more on singles etc and so the cheesy ballad will always come through and the better, more creative stuff will be left in the background.
