1. 25= -15 + 8x
2. y / (-6) =2 (the symbol / is divide)
3. -7b = -84
4. a - (-163) = -292
5. (x-8)(2x + 4)=
6. 8 = -32b
7. (6x + 1)(3x + 2)=
8.(5b + 4)(b-8)=
9 (y to the 2nd power -2y + 2)( y + 1 )=

Then I have 2 extra credit questions
Factor: 4x to the 2nd power -13x+3
Solve: 2(x -15) = 60 - X

The extra credit questions:

4x^2 - 13x + 3

This factors into

(4x - 1) (x - 3)

Solving 2(x - 15) = 60 - x,

2x - 30 = 60 - x
3x = 90
x = 30

You are at the starting point, it is best for you to try to undestand and starting working on the question rather that posting the question and asking for answer. Remember, none of us will be there with you when you are taking your paper.

Rules are basically very simple, memoried the following first. It as must and no easy way out for you :

Given the equation, you need to move the number between the equal sign (=) to solve the unknow variable (can be represent by a to z, depends on the question). Note : There is only 1 unknow for you solve at this stage, as you go deeper, there will more than 1 unknown for you to solve. (better start to understand).

The rule :

When moving from left to rigth of the = sign,
Additional become subtraction
Subtraction become Additional
Multiplication become Division
Division become Multiplication

The same rule apply when moving form right to left of the = sign

The objective is to solve the unknown. You can see clearer if you bring the unknown to the left hand side and keep it there.

Take 1 question as an example :
25=-15+8x to make you see clearer, rewrite to
-15+8x=25 (Move -15 to right side, Subtraction become Additional)
8x=25+15
8x=40 (bring 8 to the right, multiplcation become division)
x=40/8
x=5
To check your answer, substitue x=5 into the equation to see if you get the same answer.
25=-15+8x
25=-15+8(5)
25=-15+40
25=25

Confirm you had the right answer



Question 2 :
y/(-6)=2 (-6 is one set and cannot become +6 when you bring over to right hand side. It should be read as -6 bring to right, division become multiplication)
y=2*(-6)
y=-12

Substitues into original equation :
y/(-6)=2
-12/-6=2
2=2

The answer is right.

You should try the rest yourself. No pain no gain.

Remember start earlier, it tough to start but once you started, the going get earlier.
