There are some pretty good guesses contained within. It depends what standards you use. Much of the support for the terrorist groups seems to come from the oil rich nations of the Middle East, as well as some of the indoctrination and training. Remember, most of the 9/11 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia. Their training ground now is Iraq. The question we must ask is why is there terrorism?

Apparently Afghanistan still is home to most of the Terrorist factions. Since the Americans invaded Iraq, terrorism has gained a stronghold there too.

Other countries that financially support terrorists would be Syria, Iran, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.

Seems to me that the "War on Terror" has caused a whole new breed of terrorists to develop. Now it's a war on the USA.

Iran is beileved to be funding Hezbola. The Pakistan as a state IS NOT supporting the Taliban or other terrorists. The president of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, signed a peace agreement with tribal leaders to in the the northwestern region of Pakistan to help eradicate the Taliban. Syria is considered by the US to be a state sponsor of terror. A Syrian militant group has claimed responsibility for the assignation of Pierre Amine Gemayel, a high ranking politician in Lebanon, but it is unknown if the government is involved.

The source of international terrorism is not really countries. 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia, one of our close allies. It is more of a grassroots effort to put it lightly. It stems from radical sects of Islam. I would like to make clear that Islam is a very peaceful religion. The Clerics who promote terrorism are preaching corrupt versions of Islam. Saudi Arabian royal family is scared shirtless by these radicals. They can do little to oppose them because they are afraid they might be overthrown if they do. The radical clerics who preach hatred are a major source. Many terrorists are recruited from mosques and all of the terrorists attacks have had a spiritual leader involved.

There is deeper level to all of the terrorism: HATRED OF THE WEST. The west is hated because: we created Israel, we are secular, we tolerate all religions, we created and/or supports democratic governments and not theocracies, the abuse at Abu Ghraib, we have troops in Muslim lands, we are imperialists and others hate us because of our not so sterling history. In Iran the CIA helped to overthrow the democratically elected prime minister because the US suspected he was a communist. Then the US supported an oppressive tyrannical dictator who was friendly to our business interests.

Fighting the war on terror is not helping our eradicate terror it's a new source. In 2003 the United States opened the biggest terrorist training camp in the world: Iraq. think about the name "insurgents." It is the label applied to terrorists who came in from other middle eastern countries. They came to Iraq and got hands on training on how to make IEDs and kill US troops. When the US finally pulls out those of them that are left probably will not go home. They will likely disperse through out the globe and bring the fight back to our door step. That will be the new source of terrorism. The sooner the US realizes you cant fight a word the better. For every terrorist we kill we create a martyr who inspires two more. For all of the Iraqis who were killed more martyrs will join the cause. If we keep going the way we are and living in fear of terrorists then we will repeat the cold war. Terrorists are winning democratic elections in Palistine and Lebanon not because they are threatening their own people but because they can provide aid better than the Government can. As soon as Israel pulled out of Lebanon this August, Hezbola handed out $10000 to each family whos home or apartment had been destroyed. If we want to fight terrorism me need to do it with aid not smart bombs.

you're defining the international terrorisim from america's point of view. i think israel actions is not any less worse than any terrorists, it kills palestainians every day "to fight for land" that belongs to the palestainians in the first place!!!
israel never existed 100 years ago in any part of palestine, now they took more than70% of palestine lands, and killed and refugeed large percentage of palestanian people.
most of the palestanians i know had never seen palestine, and propably never will....that's terrorism!!!
