We have know about dyslexia for about 100 years, so its not moving that fast.
I ill try to give an example of one aspect of dyslexia, the brain sees at two speeds colour and black and white, black and white is a lot faster. To fast for some dyslexic brains, so by filtering the part of white light that couses the problem stops the distortion that people call word blindness.
This is one of many reasons why people suffer from dyslexia.
Thanks Crapsake, but those ansers dont afend me, just prove my piont that so many people just dont realise that dyslexia has nothing to do with intelgence, and more to do with prosesing your sences, and working memory, something I believe is relavant to us all to a grater or lesser degree

Hi Judashero
Your taxes (if you out of school) pay for people in prison, with out work, suffering helth ishoes, and the resorces taken from schools to help, so may be you should, as these could all be rejuced with a little understanding of the subject

The concept of dyslexia is relatively new, however, people are studying and discussing this. You will find that we have come a long way in understanding the ramifications of what is like to be dyslexic. There is hope and plenty of understanding and help out there.
We have discovered that alot of dyslexic people are very intelligent. Many public figures and celebrities have been diagnosed as dyslexic such as: Tom Cruise, Eddie Izzard, Steve Redgrave, Ben Zephaniah, and Richard Branson, to name but a few. There are many resources out there for help and support.
It certainly is not being skipped or avoided believe me!
Here are a couple of good websites:
www.dyslexic.com
www.bdadydyslexia.org.uk
BeingDyslexic.co.uk
There is a great interest in this subject and it is regarded as a very relevant subject within our society!
I wish you all the best! :o) x

I have to add that I simply cannot believe how cynical, nasty and, bordering on cruel some of the previous answers have been.
Take no notice of these ignorant people, you are better than them by far! Some people do shy away from what they do not understand. People with disabilities and who are in minority groups face this alot. It does not mean that people do not care. They feel threatened or scared of something that they do not know about. A good saying to always remember is: 'The people that matter dont mind, and the people that mind don't matter!'

I know me saying this probably has no point. But ur question confuses my little brain lol.I think i know what you mean.Sometimes people want to believe what they want to believe.Sometimes they may believe something and not show this or say this or think this, sometimes they dont believe something at all.You will never know.

To understand something fully is to have to face it and deal with it. Most people don't want to do that. They just want to live in ignorance and go on with their daily lives in ignorant bliss, unaware of what is going on around them.

Are you for real? Dyslexia rules KO!

Even a dyslexic can click on CHECK SPELLING or are you word blind as well as dyslexic and stupid?

Or are you, trying to evoke a discussion by deliberately pretending to be any or all of the above?

HI,
Understanding what? Most people are comfortable in the little bubble they live in a don't like to have it popped, or they have they attitude if it aint broke don't fix it or just plain don't care, but the most that I have found is that they are so wrapped up in their own issues they feel they can't handle anything more in life.
