I just finished my debut CD "Taken By the Heavens", Ballads and soft rock, 6 songs, 5 are originals and 1 is a led zep copy. How do I get funds to record another CD, I think it's a hit!

You could do several things to promote yourself and your music.
Id start by making a myspace-music account...this will help you gain a fanbase.
You could also make visits to your local indie labels and give them a copy of your demo cd (While doing this make sure you do a few things....Include a photograph in glossy paper of you and band...if you have a backup band, have your demo cd prepared...having the louder more in your face tracks at the start and the smoother, softer tracks at the end....deliver your demo to the label personally [shows your interested in a deal and will be commited], you could also include a list of gigs that you have lined up so that if the producers/directors are interested in you and your music.....they could come and check you out live.)
Promote your demo cd at your current and future gigs...if nessesary you may sell these by yourself, gaining a bit of extra cash while you spread your fanbase.
Invite producers and currently signed artists to a private "garage session", this will give the label an insight to who you are and how you perform sets.

However you got the funds for this one. But getting a deal is not that hard William Hung got one, I got offered on, the thing is to get offered one that can be profitable with a label willing to market and promote you, and honestly believes in your talent and your future.

sell your c.d to the people,thus collect money to make your second c.d,if it also becomes hit you will one shining stars in the music world,so try harder ok,good luck.
