I made a video with some friends were my friend sings sexy back and publish it in the web.......is that breacking the law,like a copyright thing, can I go to jail for that?

I believe only if you make a profit from it as in the Michael Jackson lawsuit. It was proven that Michael used the music from another songwriter and made millions....I think it was Billy Jean's Not my Girl. I can't remember how much Michael was made to pay. But, it's very similar to plagiarism with writers and novelists.....basically it's stealing. Even if you do not make money from it, if it is derogatory and demeaning towards the original artist, they could sue for defamation of character.
Chances of going to jail would be slim, unless you could not pay the damages. So, if you are doing it as a compliment and not receiving monies, you should be ok. They say mimicry is one of the highest forms of flattery.
