off. I thought I was going to die from blood loss.

Then I caught typhoid and was very sick for nearly a month. I was better for a little bit, but ended up getting pnemonia because the place I was was freezing cold, and to make matters worse, I ende up getting tetnus in the arm wound. Not only did they have to reopen it, but I ended up getting shots in my spine, and a tracheotomy.

Anyways, I'm better now and have been for 3 years, but now I'm really very parenoid about any kind of physical discomfort. If it's a little cold, I have to be extremely warm. I can't be hungry for even a little bit, and I am so parenoid about getting cut that I can't handle metal things or be around anything I think might cut me. I won't turn pages without a hankerchief on my hand.

Is there anything that can be done about this and will it go away by itself?

I don't know for sure, but it sounds like some PTS (Post Traumatic Stress) issues. I'm seeing some substantial traumatic episodes in your question. Check with a therapist/psychologist.

Take small steps. Logically you know that nothing bad will really happen if you have a minor injury or experience discomfort. Start with something small like being hungry. Next time you are hungry think of the worst thing that can happen if you don't eat for another half hour, then think about how likely that senario is. Set an alarm clock to go off in half an hour and wait it out. Take a few deep breaths, go do something else, try to forget about the alarm. Don't worry if you don't make it the first time, just try again. Slowly move on to bigger things. You can do it, it's logic over irrational fear.

Try some kind of sport, this will help take your worries away from this, besides being good for your body.

Suggestions: rock climbing (if your arm is good for that, it will help you building muscles), running (have you considered trying iron man?)

Thoughts are nothin more than pictures. The event has happened but you have a memory of it (pictures). Confront the pictures, the more you do, the less those pictures can react against you & they will erase.

I don't think it will go away by itself. My issue with cats never went away. Since one scratched my face while I was a little kid, I never approached one with friendly intentions. It never cured itself.

I would seek professional help. You need help to conquer your fear and decide that it isn't rational. You need to regain your self confidence and put that bad experience behind you.
It's will be much harder without proper guidance.
