Maybe you family were and are not very expressive verbally or maybe you do not believe your spouse.
I suggest you tell your wife exactly what is on your mind.
(she is not a mind reader)

No it isn't normal. if you don't feel good ..What this tells me is ..you loosing interest in her, because you are getting a bit on the side or.. your wife, when she says sweet words to you she doesn't mean them ,she is not sincere ..and it doesn't sound genuine ..maybe she has someone on the side !! but there is definitely some thing wrong here ..good luck

Why do you have that guilt? Is it because you are not soft or goody to her. In case you do not treat her well and on occasions she speaks good of you then you would feel it abnormal. But if you love her and treat her well and she reciprocates then that should be normal. Now it is for you to find out whether it is normal or not. Man you are lucky that there is a beautiful wife to love you.

Do you wish that your wife should criticize you all the time. You appear to be lucky fellow getting sweet words from your wife otherwise its opposite happen. Enjoy, her remarks. Don't suspect her.

Maybe it makes you feel as if you were a child, i think this is normal, my husband doesn't like sweet words either

do you have low self esteem? Are you angry with her and not know it? Does it not sound genuine?
I think you should ask yourself what doesn't feel right about it.
