Sorry but what a ridiculous question - no they shouldn't be stripped of their honours. Why should they? What was achieved in the summer of 2005 was an amazing feat - we deserevedly won the Ashes and the honours given. Honours shouldn't be lost just because we lost this series.

Don't forget the England Rugby team also received honours when they won the World Cup back in 2003 - and they've done so well since haven't they ...

WHY ? Surely those English Cricketers who were Honoured, received their honours for their contribution to cricket, OK, maybe they did not do so well this time, BUT, you can not have forgotten they did win the ASHES last time around. Which is why the Queen gave the England Cricket Team Players the Honours you now want taken away from them.

No because the honours were awarded for services to cricket over a period of time (it's worth remembering that before winning the Ashes in 2005 England had won five or six of their previous Test series, beating West Indies in the Caribbean, Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Pakistan), so the awards were not just for the Ashes, but for a period of time.

Also, if you were to strip them of their awards just because they lost one series, then shouldn't people like David Beckham be stripped of their awards because England didn't win the World Cup last year?

No, but the honours should be given with a bit more thought and not on the spur of the moment so to speak.
The team provided fantastic entertainment and there was a big feel good factor in the country but we all got carried away with our success.
Perhaps after the whitewash in Oz the MBE should be renamed Major British Embarrassment.

Naaah, let them keep their honours. All us Aussies know what a joke it was for them to receive it in the first place. I would imagine these players also know what a joke it was to be honoured, let them explain that to everyone they meet for the rest of their lives....

Wait until later this year when the world champion English rugby team (who also got honours after winning the world cup) get knocked out of the world cup in the quarter finals. They can keep their honours as well.

Whoever hands these things out needs to take a long, hard look at their justification process. IMO it detracts from the people who truly deserve the honours.

Yep! I'm with Shane Warne on this one. How on earth does Collingwood get an honour for scoring 17 runs? It makes a mockery of the whole thing.

Yes. In fact all honours should be scrapped. Why should famous people be given honours any way? Alf Ramsey was knighted after we won the World Cup but he soon lost favour and was sacked after some poor results. Alex Ferguson.....did he deserve a knighthood? No way. He's only doing his job and getting highly paid for it.

Well yeah. I mean to win a series one year and then lose the same series the following year is quite a disgrace. I mean Australia weren't winning by two or three runs here, they were winning by innings! They even snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in Adelaide.

No, but it does show how desperate we were to win 'em last time round. I reckon Fletch, Virgil and Fred should have got one, and nobody else. Save that for when (if!) we ever win the World Cup. BTW Troy Cooley didn't get one iirc ... surely he deserves one now? ;)
