Had an xbox before, now donated to local community club where it has even more use. Want a game system to enjoy, both solo and socially (otherwise I'd stick to my pc). I get visitors who like to play sometimes. Technically the PS3 is supposed to be the best or something, however I fancy Halo 3. Wide range of titles and playability is key for me.

However, not looking for advice exactly, more opinions-if you got to choose or have done. Which one and why? If you got one, why'd you like it?

Just fishing for things to help me choose :-).

Having spent a few minutes reading reviews on Amazon, I'm amazed that I haven't found one bad review of the Wii. The 360 has mixed reception and offers prettier, slicker same stuff as before it appears. I might have to skip Halo 3 after all, or get it next year LOL. The Wii looks like lots of fun.

Well in impatience with the stupid artificial shortage crap, I nearly ditched this in favour of an Xbox. However, I'm going to preorder a Wii. It looks a lot of fun in general. I'm not a hard core gamer, and my pc is pretty high spec if I really have to play graphically pretty stuff. I reckon I'll enjoy the Wii plenty.

Have preordered my Wii at a proper price. Am ignoring the assholes who are expecting me to be stupid enough to pay top dollar to have one sooner. I hope they don't get one client LOL (Ebay, have a look, some folks want £400 buy it now, others are taking bids, and folks are silly enough to keep bidding way over the odds.). Having said all the the console looks fun, and I like some of the games I've seen for it. Thanks for your answers folks.

you will not find any bad reviews for the wii, unless someone is a nutcase writing it. 360s had a big problem at launch with peoople getting through the second part of their new game, and the 360 shutting down. it's intercooler is to small. i own a wii, and can tell you the wii sports game it comes with will keep you entertained for a couple of weeks, until you can go buy zelda. get a wii. if your rich, get a 360, a psp, and a wii, so you're covered in all the games!

I got the Wii. The motion sensor control is cool. Comes with wii sport and fitness. Graphics are the same as in Game Cube. Have mine connected to internet via WiFi and can even use youtube and email. Games are cheap $50 and works on any TV. Only good game is Zelda for the Wii all other games are weak. Got six and only like Zelda and Wii Sports. No built in DVD player. Just old fashion video games. To play Game Cube games it needs a Game Cube controller Wii Remore and Nunchaku are not compatible with Game Cube games. There will be pay per patch later on for some GC games to work with Wii Remote. I'm getting a PS3, in addition to the Wii. PS3 is the best. Best: Graphics, Games, Controls, Networking, Functions.

It depends. If you are a basic-average/not-that-into-it gamer to advanced gamer get a 360. If you are hobby-gamer to advanced to hardcore gamer, get a PS3.
It also depends on whether you want HD-DVD (XBOX 360) or Blu-Ray (PS3).
PS3 is overloaded with features and needs a 1080 pixel tv. If you don't have that, you can't get a PS3. The 360 needs a 720 pixel TV. Since I had recently bought a 1080 pixel tv, I consider buying a PS3, but I will wait to see which one, Blu-Ray or HD-DVD, succeed. Oh, and Don't worry about the games, there will be lots more soon.
Now to the Wii. The Wii is basic fun. It is fun, but the graphcs aren't that good.
Its your choice, and I'm in the same boat. I think I will get a 360.

hard choice. i would go with playstation 3 honestly. but out of the 2 probably the xbox. the nintendo wii requires so much interaction... sometimes you just wanna sit on the couch and play video games not have to stand up and jump around and interact.
