Hi everyone I am a transsexual female and I recently had a legal name change through the civil courts. I have applied for a birth certificate and that went through okay, but when I went to the social security office in Brooklyn I was asked to provide some form of ID in my NEW name! I asked a couple of my friends and they said that their process went a little different am I being sent on a run around or is this process okay. If possible can you'll provide with a org that can help me. Thank you

I would call my local LGBT center. They would have a list of local chapters of orgs that can help you. Then the info they supply will be specific to your area.

Congratulations on your name change!! :)

i think of it extremely is bullsh*t mate! Over right here in Scotland you merely would desire to get a statutory assertion signed via a notary public and you're able to alter your call to Mickey Mouse in case you so delighted! locate out from a close-by solicitor (lawyer?) if what he reported is genuine or he's merely being transphobic. In England you're able to desire to pay for the privilege to alter names, in spite of the undeniable fact that it isn't any longer plenty money extremely (approximately £80). are you able to get in touch with a LG BT team they might have the skill to propose you extra useful and that they are going to be on your section additionally! Oh and as for Tara J, sooner or later I merely shop thinking Karma......
