When I read your question, I felt that my own experience will show a solution for your problem.

One of my teachers told that, getting answers is like catching a rat in a room.

I was once poor in maths and felt it very difficult. But later, it became one of my favourite subject.

Below are some of tips for increasing math skill:

1.While are you are sitting for practicing. Be with a peaceful mind. Don’t fear maths.

2.Practising is very important in maths.

3.The practice need not be lengthy. But it should be regular and should be done with complete involvement and concentration. Even you practice for one hour daily, do it very indulged

4.Apply your own creativity and logic in solving the problem

5.Always, make a habit that you recheck you answer after solving, when you are practicing or in the examination

6.To increase interest in the subject, try to solve maths puzzles you found in magazines

By following the above, I am sure soon you will be loving Maths.

1. The first thing to do is to try to read as much math as
possible. You will have to figure out the level where you are
now. Don't try to jump ahead too fast.

2. Solve problems! If you are in a math class, solve extra
problems that they do not assign to you. If you are trying to
learn on your own, try to solve every problem in the book
(yeah, it sounds crazy, but it works).

3. Try to relate the math you are learning to your everyday life,
if you can. This will help make the subject more intereresting
to you.

4. When you study math, find a quiet place, get rid of the
distractions, and tune everything out.

5. Never, ever get discouraged. Math takes time, patience and
diligence. Hard work too. But genius is not required.

But at the end of the day, if you're not using maths on a daily basis this is quite a redundant skill.

Try this:
•Practice
-Try out examples and problems.
•Read
-Whenever you have a math textbook, read it. It's what the problems are based on. (lol)
•Flashcards
-If there are vocabulary terms, formulas, etc. that are important, use flashcards to memorize them.

Hope this helps!
